About Avenue Eco
Avenue Eco is building an AI-enabled business operations platform that brings workforce management, recruiting, project operations, commercial workflows, analytics, and intelligent automation into a connected product ecosystem. Our products include Engage for employee and workforce operations, Expand for recruiting and applicant tracking, and Exceedfor commission management. We are developing a secure, multi-tenant SaaS platform with shared data, configurable workflows, third-party integrations, operational reporting, and AI-assisted experiences that help organizations complete work rather than simply view information.
The Role
We are looking for a Mid-Level Full-Stack Developer with strong Java backend experience and practical React frontend expertise. You will work across the product stack to deliver production-ready features from detailed Agile stories, UI/UX designs, API contracts, and business requirements. The position is backend-oriented but requires the ability to implement complete user workflows in React, connect them to Java services, model data correctly, write automated tests, and support features through deployment and production monitoring.
You will contribute to capabilities such as employee lifecycle management, time and expense workflows, project management, commercial and billing operations, role-aware dashboards, recruiting automation, document workflows, third-party integrations, reporting, and AI-assisted operational experiences.
What We Expect from a Mid-Level Developer
This is not an entry-level position, but it also does not require the candidate to operate as the principal architect. The successful developer should be able to take a well-defined feature or Agile story, identify its technical dependencies, ask focused questions, propose a reasonable implementation, and deliver it with limited day-to-day supervision. The developer should understand how changes affect the user interface, APIs, data model, security, tests, integrations, and production operations—not simply complete an isolated coding task.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first several months, the developer should be able to:
- Understand the Avenue Eco product architecture, development standards, and core business domains.
- Independently deliver medium-sized Java and React features through development, testing, review, and deployment.
- Produce code that is secure, maintainable, observable, and supported by meaningful automated tests.
- Correctly implement tenant isolation, permissions, validation, audit history, and failure handling.
- Work effectively from detailed Agile stories and UI/UX specifications while identifying missing edge cases before development.
- Contribute constructively to code reviews, technical refinement, and improvements to engineering practices.
- Take ownership of production behavior and resolve defects rather than treating deployment as the end of the development process.
Engineering Principles
At Avenue Eco, we value developers who:
- Build for the complete user workflow, not only the immediate screen or endpoint.
- Prefer clear, maintainable solutions over unnecessary complexity.
- Treat security, tenant isolation, auditability, and testing as part of the feature rather than follow-up work.
- Understand the business reason behind a feature before implementing it.
- Reuse established components and architectural patterns instead of creating parallel solutions.
- Use AI development tools to accelerate delivery without delegating engineering judgment or code ownership.
- Communicate risks early, document important decisions, and collaborate openly with the broader product team.
Equal Opportunity
Avenue Eco is committed to building an inclusive team. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, experience, performance, and business requirements without discrimination based on legally protected characteristics.
Responsabilidades
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot or a comparable Java framework.
- Build responsive, accessible, and reusable user interfaces using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Translate product requirements, Agile stories, acceptance criteria, Figma designs, and UI/UX storyboards into complete working features.
- Implement end-to-end CRUD workflows, including validation, search, filtering, pagination, permissions, audit history, loading states, empty states, and error recovery.
- Design and maintain MongoDB documents, relationships, indexes, queries, migration strategies, and tenant-scoped data access.
- Develop secure REST APIs and event-driven workflows with appropriate idempotency, retries, concurrency controls, and failure handling.
- Work with GCP services such as Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Workflows, BigQuery, and Vertex AI, depending on the feature.
- Integrate Avenue Eco products with external platforms such as payroll providers, background-check services, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Graph, communications providers, payment services, and other customer systems.
- Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth-based security, role-based access control, permission checks, and organization-level data isolation.
- Protect employee, candidate, salary, financial, and other sensitive information through appropriate access controls, audit logging, encryption practices, and separation of personally identifiable information.
- Write unit, component, integration, API, and end-to-end tests as appropriate for each feature.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, sprint planning, estimation, refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
- Diagnose production issues using application logs, metrics, traces, alerts, and audit records.
- Improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and observability across existing services and user interfaces.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as Windsurf responsibly while reviewing, validating, testing, and taking ownership of all generated code.
- Document APIs, data contracts, architectural decisions, configuration requirements, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate closely with product management, UX/UI design, QA, DevOps, and other engineers throughout the delivery lifecycle.
