Full Stack Engineer

Avenue Code is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join a product engineering team focused on building innovative video experiences for a leading global digital media and streaming platform.

In this role, you will work across the stack on products that enable music creators to publish, manage, and grow their video presence at global scale. You will own features end-to-end, from modern React and TypeScript user experiences to backend services and data pipelines responsible for processing and delivering video content to millions of users.

You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and Engineering teams to solve complex challenges around video publishing, creator tooling, content operations, and large-scale media delivery.

This is a hands-on product engineering opportunity ideal for engineers who enjoy working across frontend and backend systems, taking ownership of features, and building reliable products at scale.

This is a remote opportunity, with preference for candidates located in EST or CST time zones.

• Build and maintain full stack features for a large-scale platform serving music creators globally.
• Design, develop, and operate frontend experiences using React and TypeScript.
• Build and maintain backend services using Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go.
• Own features end-to-end, from user-facing interfaces to backend services and supporting data pipelines.
• Support the reliability and performance of video ingestion, processing, transcoding, and delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and Engineering partners to define and deliver new product capabilities.
• Work with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure supporting high-scale applications.
• Apply modern engineering practices including continuous delivery, observability, defensive programming, and automated testing.
• Work with containers, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Contribute to shared engineering standards, libraries, tooling, and best practices.
• Take ownership of loosely defined problems, break them into actionable solutions, and deliver iteratively.

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience working across frontend and backend systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience building backend services using at least one modern programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and data pipelines.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with containers and CI/CD environments.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices including automated testing, observability, continuous delivery, and production reliability.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and take ownership of features from design through production.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.

• Experience with Java or Kotlin for backend development.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience building or operating video, media processing, ingestion, or transcoding systems.
• Experience with large-scale content delivery or streaming platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• Familiarity with creator tools, digital media platforms, or content management systems.
• Experience working on high-scale consumer or creator-facing products.

At Avenue Code, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $75k to $85 yearly.
